Recipe for Glook

In Science we have been studying solids, liquids, gases, and colloids. Today we took a trip to our school Science Lab and experimented with making our own "Glook!" Students had the opportunity to make observations and note what they experienced during our lab time. Several students mentioned they noticed "Glook" is a colloid (combination of substances that can be a solid or a liquid).

All students signed a contract in their Science journals stating they agreed to the following rules for Glook:
1. Keep Glook away from younger children and animals.
 (Could be a choking hazard)
2.Do not throw Glook. (An animal or sibling could find it and eat it.)
3. Follow the directions of your parents.
4. Please do not put Glook in your bed. Yuck!!!

If you are interested in creating Glook at home, please follow the directions below! :)

Recipe for Glook
1. Put one tablespoon of white glue and one tablespoon of water in a cup and stir.
2. In a different cup, put one teaspoon of Borax powder and a quarter cup of warm water, and stir until it dissolves.
3. Pour the glue solution into the cup with the Borax solution and stir. A glob of slime should start to form. Poke any bubbles with your stirrer.
4. After stirring it for awhile, take the glob out and use your fingers to massage and mix the ingredients together more. Do this until the Glook no longer feels wet. It should be like silly putty, but softer and not as rubbery.
5. Explore it!
6. When you are not playing with it, keep the Glook in a bag with a seal, to prevent it from drying out.
