Questions for a scientist...

If you go up in to space and you land on the moon. and if you try to guess how far the earth is from the moon what would you guess?

Why is the sun yellow?Do you know if the sun is going to explode?  your friend ,Whitney

Do you know why the planets start small to big? Why? Why would Pluto not be a planet? Sincerely,

Harrison,

The moon is 240,000 miles from the Earth.

Whitney,

If the sun explodes, it will be millons of years from now.

The color of any star depends on its temperature. The suns temperature is 9950 F, so that means it is yellow. If the sun was hotter, it would look white or blue. If it was colder, it would look red.

Jeltzia,

The planets go from small to big and then medium sized. The planets close to the sun are small because when the planets were formed, the sun took some of the material and there wasn't much left to make planets. Farther away, the sun did not take much material, so the planets could be bigger.

I think Pluto should be a planet too, but astronomers think it is too small to be a planet.

Nick,

Mercury does not have an atmosphere, all the rest do.
